On Friday, September 16th, on the campus of Howard University, my team and I met for the first time to discuss our vision and goals for our 2017 CREU Project. Our goals foster on the idea of creating groundbreaking technology that strives to bridge disparities in the beauty industry. Through research on the latest technologies, we plan to have a tangible product that both customizes and personalizes essential beauty products for women with different color pigmentation, porosity levels and undertones.
The team is under the direct leadership of Associate Professor, Dr. Gloria Washington. Following the leadership, is senior, computer scientists Kymberlee Hill and Miya Goodwin and junior, Electrical Engineer Daniel Erhabor.
As a consensus, the team started to divide and conquer what is currently on the market. Following our weekly meetings on Friday, we will pitch presentations that showcase technology that is currently on the market, must-have beauty products, software and materials needed to build a viable project.
Daniel Erhabor is responisble for pitching products that will be a great resource to be used in building a prototype. He is also conducting 3D renderings and sketches of potential designs.
Miya Goodwin is responsible for pitching the latest technologies and formulations used on the growing beauty market.
Kymberlee Hill agreed to research user interfaces and applications used by companies, such as Snapchat, that will scan a woman's face.
Overall, we are off to a great start.
